Vanessa Goulding serves as the National Strategic Lead for Diabetes FootCare in Wales and is the Interim Head of Podiatry at Cardiff and Vale University Health Board. With three decades of experience in the NHS - eighteen of which have been dedicated to diabetes foot and wound care - she brings extensive expertise to her roles. She is deeply committed to service improvement and innovation, with a focus on enhancing patient care to achieve outcomes that are meaningful to service users. Vanessa strives to ensure equitable, evidence-based practice is embedded within the system. As an executive committee member of FDUK, she actively supports the delivery of these principles across the Four Nations. Vanessa is also devoted to the professional development of healthcare practitioners. She contributes locally through the undergraduate podiatry programme at Cardiff Metropolitan University and internationally as an Honorary Lecturer at Cardiff University and the University of Southeast Norway, where she delivers master’s modules on the prevention and management of diabetic foot complications.
