Tara West is a highly trained dental hygienist with over 20 years of experience across NHS and private practice settings. She holds a postgraduate diploma in Periodontics and an MSc in Diabetes Care with distinction. Tara’s clinical work focuses on the integration of oral and systemic health, particularly in patients living with type 1 and type 2 diabetes and unstable periodontal disease. In her role as Lead Dental Hygienist and Clinical Support Mentor, she delivers advanced periodontal care, supports multidisciplinary treatment planning and mentors clinicians within practice settings. She is committed to advancing awareness of the bidirectional relationship between diabetes and periodontal health and promoting more integrated, collaborative approaches to patient care. Outside her clinical work, Tara has a keen interest in health optimisation, enjoys travelling with friends and often spends her time at wellness retreats.
