Brian Kennon was appointed as a consultant diabetologist in 2004. He works at the New Victoria and Queen Elizabeth University Hospitals, Glasgow. His sub-specialty interests include diabetes foot disease, transitional care and technology enabled care. He has also been working collaboratively with Simon Community Scotland to try and tackle inequalities and has developed an outreach service for individuals with diabetes experiencing homelessness.
He is also interested in developing citizen-led care models and a societal approach to wellbeing. He has an honorary chair from Glasgow Caledonian University and is also medical adviser to the T-1 Today UK charity.
His is currently the clinical lead for the national diabetes technologies onboarding programme for Scotland. He also chairs the Scottish Diabetes Innovations and Technologies Group and is leading a Scottish Government work stream looking at transforming care models to prevent Cardiovascular Disease.
