Dr Julia Platts is a Consultant in Diabetes and Medicine in Cardiff. She was appointed as the National Clinical Lead for Diabetes in Wales in 2014 to progress the Welsh Government Diabetes Delivery Plan in Wales and subsequently the Quality Statement for Diabetes. Her role is advising and supporting diabetes service development and innovation in Wales. She has a particular clinical interest in type 1 diabetes, technology and diabetes, young adult services and pregnancy and diabetes. A key area of interest is overcoming barriers to equality of service provision and new models of care.
