Helen Murphy

Professor of Medicine, University of East Anglia

Dr Helen Murphy is a Professor of Medicine at the University of East Anglia, and a practicing clinician (Norfolk & Norwich University Hospital). She co-led the CONCEPTT Continuous Glucose Monitoring (CGM) trial, which led to changes in clinical practice. Her studies in collaboration with Professor Roman Hovorka, demonstrated how  regnancy-specific hybrid closed-loop systems (CamAPS FX) are now transforming the management of T1D before, during and after pregnancy. Based on 15 years research, with pivotal studies published in the New England Journal of Medicine, CamAPS FX is nationally and internationally recommended for women with T1D who are pregnant or planning pregnancy. Helen also serves on the editorial boards for Diabetologia and Diabetes Care and as clinical lead for the National Pregnancy in Diabetes (NPID) audit, which directly informs national healthcare policy.
