Dr Zehra Yonel

Dr Zehra Yonel is an Academic Clinical Lecturer in Restorative Dentistry at the School of Dentistry in the University of Birmingham. She completed her PhD, funded by the NIHR (National Institute for Health Research) and Diabetes UK, as part of a Doctoral Research Fellowship (DRF) in 2023. Her research interests lie in the fields of periodontology, epidemiology, and the interface between oral and systemic diseases. Zehra is a calibrated assessor of periodontal indices used in clinical studies. Zehra’s clinical training is in the field of restorative dentistry, encompassing periodontics, endodontics and prosthodontics. She is also heavily involved in both undergraduate and postgraduate education
