Steven Parks works at Diabetes UK, supporting the Diabetes Research Steering Groups (DRSGs) to bring together researchers, clinicians, and people with lived experience to shape diabetes research. He completed his PhD in Cell Biology at Imperial College London. His work focuses on making research more connected to the people it is intended to benefit, particularly by addressing health inequalities and building stronger links between researchers and underrepresented communities. He is especially interested in how community organisations and academia can work more closely together to drive meaningful progress.
