Dr Stephen Lawrence

Stephen Lawrence is a GP with an extended role in diabetes and obesity, and an Associate Clinical Professor at the University of Warwick. He is Course Director for the Masters in Diabetes, where he teaches and supervises healthcare professionals from a wide range of disciplines. Stephen has extensive experience in the clinical management of type 2 diabetes and its comorbidities, with a particular interest in person‑centred care, cardiovascular and renal risk reduction, and health inequalities. He is also the CEO and founder of Prescribed Notes and the TEA Lounge (Together Even Apart), an online initiative that combines accessible education, live discussion and music to help people make sense of diabetes care in their everyday lives. Through this work, he aims to bridge the gap between evidence, policy and the lived experience of people with diabetes.
