David Hopkins is a consultant diabetologist based in Jersey and a visiting reader in diabetic medicine at King’s College London. He is a former co-chair of Diabetes UK’s Healthcare Professionals Advisory committee and also led the diabetes programme at King’s Health Partners, London for many years before moving to Jersey in 2022. He has a long history of quality improvement work and research across many areas of clinical practice in diabetes, including previous leadership of the DAFNE national audit programme and current leadership of the EU- funded Health Outcomes Observatory (H2O) programme that aims to incorporate patient reported outcomes into routine patient care and develop data observatories linking patient reported outcomes with biomedical data. He has recently taken on a role as co-lead for the ABCD clinical audit programmes jointly with Davide Iacuaniello and Emma Wilmot, with the aim of further developing the portfolio of clinical audit programmes hosted by ABCD.
