Bernadette Adeyileka-Tracz (MPharm, PhD, Exec MBA) is a registered pharmacist and the Executive Director of Diabetes Africa, a non-profit organisation with the mission of eradicating diabetes and its related diseases in people of Black, African and African Caribbean heritage. The organisation supports people living with diabetes and the healthcare professionals that care for them, whilst also advocating for positive system and policy change.
Diabetes Africa is leading on award winning projects not only in Africa but also in the UK, including the Diabetes footcare in dark skin tones handbook, the Equity in Diabetes and Pregnancy toolkit, and the Equity in Diabetes Technology toolkit.
Alongside a professional interest in diabetes and related diseases, Bernadette's passion comes from the lived experience of her close family members who are living with Type 1 Diabetes, Type 2 Diabetes, and other diabetes subtypes.
