Anwen has worked predominantly within Primary and Community care since qualifying as a nurse specialising in diabetes for the last 15 years. In 2021 she won the RCN Wales Community Nurse of the Year Award for integrating diabetes community and primary care services. Having been fortunate enough to complete the Diabetes UK Clinical Champion 21-23 programme, Anwen has been able to transfer these skills into the workplace. Anwen is passionate about empowering individuals to take ownership of their diabetes and improve self-management along with the prevention of type 2 diabetes.
