Ahmad Moolla is a Consultant Physician and academic in Diabetes and Endocrinology. He is an Honorary Consultant Physician at the Royal Free Hospital in London and Visiting Professor at Newcastle University, UK and Malaysia. He studied medicine at Imperial College London and where he was a UK NIHR Academic Clinical Research Fellow during his postgraduate training. His subspecialty areas of interest are in cardiometabolic disease, obesity and MASLD, in which he has led clinical trials investigating novel treatments including GLP-1 therapy and for which he was awarded a PhD from the University of Oxford. Ahmad also has strong interests in clinical leadership, health policy and medical education. He hold a Masters in Education, has served as Training Programme Director for doctors in postgraduate medical training and is a former Clinical Advisor at the UK Department of Health where he advised on reducing unwarranted variation in healthcare and increasing quality across health services. Ahmad brings over 20 years of experience working in the UK and internationally, has published his work in high-impact academic journals and has been invited to lecture across the USA, Europe and Asia on diabetes, obesity, clinical leadership and medical education.
