Specialist Registered Dietitian

Vilasini Bhaskaran is a Specialist Registered Dietitian with more than 23 years of experience in both public health and clinical dietetics. She holds both a Master of Science and a Master of Philosophy degree in Advanced Dietetics. Her extensive background encompasses various roles, including serving as a Program Officer for the World Health Organization's Diabetes program, where she led initiatives aimed at enhancing diabetes prevention, education, and research. Additionally, she has worked as a Program Manager for international projects funded by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and the United Nations Development Program (UNDP). Furthermore, she has served as a Maternal and Child Health Nutrition Consultant for UNICEF India. In the United Kingdom, she has distinguished herself as a Specialist Dietitian in Eating Disorders, Mental Health, Learning Disabilities & Autism, Diabetes, Gastroenterology, Bariatrics, and Weight Management, working within both the NHS and private sectors. Ms. Vilasini also serves as a First Contact Dietitian for diabetes and obesity and actively volunteers with Diabetes UK, providing support to individuals with Type 1 diabetes. Having authored over five abstracts and a multitude of articles in both print and online media, Ms. Vilasini possesses a keen interest in research, empowering others and disseminating educational initiatives across academic and public platforms.
