Nicola Milne

Nicola Milne is a Primary Care CVRM Nurse focused on effective, accessible diabetes care. She established the Community Diabetes Education and Support Team in central Manchester, a finalist in the 2022 Diabetes Quality in Care Awards. As co-author of Best Practice Diabetes Care within the Primary Care Network, she led implementation through the DiAST programme across a south Manchester Primary Care Network from 2022 to 2024. Nicola currently works in primary care and is Diabetes Specialist Nurse Clinical Lead for the Greater Manchester and East Cheshire Diabetes Strategic Clinical Network. She is co-vice chair of the Primary Care Diabetes and Obesity Society, a Diabetes UK Clinical Champion, and an editorial board member for two diabetes journals. She contributes to Diabetes UK advisory groups, teaches for i-Heed, and presented at EASD 2026. She co-authored The Oxford Book of Diabetes Nursing, second edition, published in 2024.
