Juliette Palmer

Diabetes Specialist Nurse, Brownlow Health Liverpool

Juliette Palmer has worked as a Diabetes Specialist Nurse for over 13 years with experience in the community and currently in Primary Care. She has had the opportunity to work closely with the secondary care teams within the city and has gained experience working with diverse populations. They have a large national and international student population and she has fostered excellent relationships with the Young Adult Team and the universities to ensure supportive care within all these environments.

Juliette works closely with their homeless population, providing education and support for hostel and support staff and works closely to ensure all key care processes are completed and medication optimised as safely as possible through an outreach approach.

They have an asylum and refugee clinic and again, she supports staff and people living with diabetes who have often been through very challenging times. She is passionate about delivering high quality care to all the service users and offers support and education within the GP surgery to all staff as part of her role.

Juliette has been a member of The Health Care Professional Advisory Committee and The Conference Organising Committee for Diabetes UK and have had opportunities with Diabetes UK to work with people with lived experience which has been extremely beneficial to my development in her DSN role over the years.
