Erin Boyle is a young leader for the Type 1 Programme in Northern Ireland, having joined the programme this summer. They were diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes in 2019 at the age of 15 and are passionate about raising awareness and helping others understand the condition.
Erin is also a recent Computer Science graduate from Queen’s University Belfast, they developed an app for their final-year dissertation designed to support people living with Type 1 diabetes. Through volunteering, they hope to use their experience to help young people navigate the pressures of living with diabetes and create a supportive space for others facing similar challenges.
