Dr Ahmed Iqbal

Senior Clinical Lecturer in Diabetes & Honorary Consultant Physician in Diabetes, University of Sheffield

Dr Ahmed Iqbal is a Senior Clinical Lecturer in Diabetes at the University of Sheffield and an Honorary Consultant Physician at Sheffield Teaching Hospitals. He is a clinician-scientist specialising in hypoglycaemia and the use of novel diabetes technologies in type 1 and type 2 diabetes. Dr Iqbal undertook clinical-academic training through NIHR and MRC pathways, completing a PhD in Sheffield. His research focuses on the mechanisms linking hypoglycaemia to cardiovascular risk, alongside translational studies evaluating technology-enabled interventions to improve outcomes for people living with diabetes.
