"DigiBete is a multi-award winning, QISMET accredited digital education platform that strengthens diabetes self‑management for children, young people and their families. Its age‑appropriate videos, demonstrations and user stories provide clear, practical guidance on everyday diabetes tasks, supporting parents, carers and school staff to understand clinical needs and participate confidently in safe care. The platform aligns with NICE guidance, complementing local structured education through personalised, flexible and self‑paced learning pathways. DigiBete is designed for accessibility, offering inclusive resources for users with physical or sensory disabilities and for those who may find spoken or written English challenging. Content is culturally sensitive, developmentally targeted and supports emotional wellbeing and transition into adult services.
All materials undergo routine updates, user‑led refinement and robust clinical and quality assurance, underpinned by QISMET‑accredited structured education standards. DigiBete incorporates the Goals of Diabetes curriculum and provides behaviour‑change support, sustained engagement and digitally enabled structured education for children and young people, including those with Type 2 diabetes. Resources are co‑created with families and aligned with national and international consensus. Real‑world evaluations and NIHR‑funded studies demonstrate improvements in clinical, behavioural, psychosocial and access outcomes. DigiBete’s “living” curriculum ensures rapid incorporation of new evidence, technologies and NHS guidance, extending care beyond appointments and supporting preventative, person‑centred diabetes management."
