Alka Pandey is a specialist dietitian spanning a dietetic career over 16 years across the UK and India.

She specialises in Diabetes and Critical care within the NHS. Her passion is South Asian Health and reducing the prevalence of Diabetes in South Asian population by transforming diet and lifestyle.

Outside the NHS she runs a private dietetic practice and has published articles with multiple national dietetic magazines.

Alka volunteers with British Dietetic Association Diabetes specialist group, has volunteered in her NHS Trust as a Chair for the BAME network for 2 years leading on initiatives during COVID. Alka has also collaborated with healthcare professionals and charitable organisations to support Type 1 diabetes education in India.

Her voluntary work delivering diabetes education in Hindi to underserved women’s groups led to her being shortlisted for the NHS Parliamentary Award in 2019. In 2024, she received the She Inspires Award for Promising Professional.
