Esther Walden is a DSN at the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital (NNUH) and Senior Clinical Adviser at Diabetes UK.
With a background as a lead DISN from 2004-2021 and founder of the DISN UK Group, Esther continues to support inpatient care workstreams at Diabetes UK. This includes being an operational group member for the RCP Diabetes Care Accreditation Programme.
Esther is passionate about improving the quality of diabetes services and has worked with various external organisations to develop national guidance for inpatient diabetes management. She has several publications related to inpatient diabetes care.
She has worked at Diabetes UK for 5 years and now combines this role with her clinical work gathering professional and lived experience insight to inform the organisations work and translate current evidence into accurate information to provide a holistic approach to diabetes care for everyone affected by diabetes.
